From afar we saw it coming
But the rest refused to see
Same old curse it seemed upon us:
None would hear Cassandra’s plea

‘twas the wilderness too vast
Steady lies and propaganda
brought the fall, the die was cast

The low-lives and the rubble
Rising up to tip their spear
Burn and loot and murder:
Same old fist, the reds are here

Never gone, never forgotten
Veiled and hidden for so long
Grew as cancer in the world
Swayed the youth in ways so wrong
